On October 21, 2007, John with Arlo and I with Elli tracked a wounded deer for Stephen Napiorski and his friend Jeff Mangold. Arlo was a leading dog on this call. The deer was shot at 7am and we tracked him 10 hours later. Arlo did an excellent job and jumped the deer, which was gut shot. We managed to catch up with the deer, which was subsequently dipatched by the hunter.
Arlo (usually extremely possessive) pulled on the buck's leg but was not overly aggressive. Maybe being thrown of the deer cooled his appetite for a direct confrontation.
